Re: 'The Double Life of Henry Phyfe'? (Mid-60's) |
Yea,is from mid 60s.Wasnt too much of a hit, lasted only one season,if even that long.Funny, everywhere it is called Double Life of Henry Phyfe, but I definitely remember it being called Secret Life of Henry Phyfe when it originally aired. Not that bad of a show, although was never a Red Buttons fan.Fred Clark was good in it.

Strange, my copy says "Double Life"

I'm not doubting you.In fact, have seen the show mentioned on a few sites, always as Double Life of Henry Phyfe.Just an observation, the show was on when I was 9 or 10 years old,the age when you retain everything. And remember it being Secret Life of Henry Phyfe. At least Gestroud remembers it too,was afraid maybe was completely losing my mind. And if I am,maybe have company, thats always nice.

As nice as this little forum is about the title of a show over 50 years- does anyone have it and if so-is it P.D. ?

I have an episode but I don't know if it is public domain. If anyone knows, I'd love to know. It is a good if unremarkable show.

Sadly, dont have any episodes of the show.Did a copyright search, and saw no mention of it.Would lead me to believe that the show could very well be PD,but would advise having somebody else verify that. And the show might well have changed names during the course of its run.Remember a lot from back then, but something like that may have slipped my mind.

Perhaps it changed title during run, or had a different title in some places? Ot perhaps re-titled for some other reason? I've seen this happen plenty of times before.

I watched it and liked it. Fred Clark was his boss I remember. His wife in the show went onto The Flying Nun.

Yes, that is odd. Even though I barely remember the show or its premise, I distinctly remember it being called "The Secret Life of Henry Phyfe" here on the east coast. Oh well.
